# Install - Update - Loadorder

## Step-by-step guide

How to install my mods and how to use the LoadOrder.

### Mod Manager and LoadOrder

From the main menu, click on **Mod Manager**.\
In the Manager window, click on **Installed Mods**.

#### What is the *Load Order*?

The **Load Order** determines the order in which mods are loaded.\
This is important for mods that depend on others — for example, those that load shared code or assets used by different mods.

In *Surviving Mars*, the Load Order you see in the Mod Manager isn’t the real one.\
The actual load order is invisible — it’s based on the **Enable Order**, meaning the order in which you *activate* each mod.

#### Recommended steps:

1. **Disable all mods.**
2. **Close the Mod Manager** — this will restart the game for a clean reset with no active mods.
3. Go back into the **Mod Manager**, then **activate each mod one by one** in this order:
   * **Rx Mars Framework**
   * **Rx Research Agency**
   * **All other ‘Rx Mods’…**
4. Close the **Mod Manager** — the game will restart automatically with the selected mods enabled.

### Update

Normally, mod updates are automatic!

However, on **Steam Workshop**, some players have reported that updates don’t always apply correctly — meaning their mods aren’t running the latest version.

It seems that **unsubscribing and then resubscribing** to the mods fixes the issue.\
This has been confirmed by several players.
